Welcome to the Rural Resilience Foundation
Who We Are
RReF is a nonprofit Youth-led organization based in Northern Region Tamale, Ghana. RReF as an organization seeks to empower rural communities in Northern Ghana to be resilient and prosperous through youth and economic empowerment. The organization focuses on three thematic areas which include Health, Education and Advocacy, and Youth Empowerment. Through these thematic areas, we believe we will be able to impact rural communities in Northern Ghana positively. As young people who make up the staff of the organization, our passion for development, specifically rural communities, is what motivates us to run RReF. Our long-term goal is to see these communities flourish in the future.
Our History
Rural Resilience Foundation was founded in the year 2018 as Advocacy for Youth Empowerment and Rural Development until its rebranding into Rural Resilience Foundation in 2022. Since the organization’s inception, the aim has always been to impact the lives of rural folks in Northern Ghana of which there have been several projects/activities. The organization began its first project in 2018 which was a donation exercise to Nawariya Primary School, a deprived school in the Nyanpkala community of Northern Ghana. This project provided the school children of Nawariya School with learning materials to aid in their studies as young children grow. Other projects and activities executed by the Organization are menstrual hygiene education and distribution of reusable sanitary pads to final year female students of Methodist junior high in the Nyanpkala community, mentorship sessions for final year junior high students of Tiyumba M/A school in the Sagnarigu district of Tamale and an online public speaking coaching class. Sensitization program with Nawariya Junior High on drug abuse and time management. Advanced learning with basic coding with the youth of Tamale, Ghana. These numerous projects/activities by the organization since its inception have so far been of great help to rural Northern Ghana.
